Thomas Mericle, P.E., T.E. – City Transportation Manager, City of San Buenaventura
Mr. Mericle is the City Transportation Manager for the Central Coast city of San Buenaventura (Ventura). He has experience in local traffic engineering issues working in both city government and private consulting. He has served as President of the ITE Central Coast Section and on local and national ITE committees. His experience includes traffic operations, parking, traffic laws, local transit, traffic impact studies, neighborhood traffic management, and automated traffic enforcement strategies. He also teaches extension classes for the Institute for Transportation Studies at University of California, Berkeley.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.
He is currently serving as the Local Arrangements Committee Chair for the 2010 Annual ITE Western District Meeting in Santa Barbara.
