As the year comes to an end, ITE and it’s members have been busy finishing up projects and preparing presentations. We would like to take this time to recognize some recent achievements of our members.
First, congratulation to our outgoing president Eric Catig for being featured in this month’s ITE Journal! He has an interesting article about building and promoting our ITE chapter here at Cal Poly Pomona, take a look!
Also, during the ITE SoCal and RSBITE Student Presentation Nights, two of our senior projects received awards. Dr. Jia and his team took home 1st place at both events, and Dr. Cheng and his team took home 2nd place. Congratulations to both teams for an amazing amount of work!
Our High School Education Outreach Project has finally come to a close. This group of 9th and 10th graders put forth 8 weeks of hard work and effort learning about Civil and Transportation Engineering while working in groups to design their own multimodal bridge.
And to top it all off, we earned the Best Student Chapter Award in the Western District for 2012, as well as being selected as the winners of the Student Website Award for the second year in a row!! A great effort by Ruben Hovanesian, and we intend to keep it up. This has been an exciting year for us and we look forward to see what we can accomplish next year!
We couldn’t have done all this without our supporters and sponsors, so thank you very much!
