Recap – ITE’s 7th General Meeting

On February 7th, 2013, ITE Cal Poly Pomona held the 7th General Meeting of the year and featured Cal Poly Pomona Alumnus, Mr. Deepak “Dee” Ubhayakar, P.E. as the guest speaker.

Mr. Ubhayakar’s “Engineer Your Way To Success” presentation focused on professional skill development according to an outline he refers to as “Ten Key Elements For A Successful Engineering Career”. Mr. Ubhayakar credited much of his professional success to the skills he developed through Toastmasters (http://www.toastmasters.org/). Mr. Ubhayakar strongly encouraged students to consider membership with the organization.

Mr. Ubhayakar’s “TEN KEY ELEMENTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL ENGINEERING CAREER” (to develop):

  2. Experience
  3. Communication Skills
  4. Leadership Skills
  5. Management Skills
  6. Teamwork

  9. Ambition/Hard Work/Commitment
  10. Continue to Learn
