Recap 4th MeetingOn Thursday, November 8th 2012, ITE Cal Poly Pomona held the 4th General Meeting of the year and featured guest speaker Mr. Brandon Reyes, P.E. of RBF.

Mr. Reyes discussed the I-91 Widening Project and his role on the important improvement project for the greater Los Angeles highway commuters. Mr. Reyes also shared insight on what to expect once new graduates find employment. Of most importance, Mr. Reyes recommends that newly hired identify their strengths and “find their fit” in professional practice – all the while maintaining a focus on the P.E. licensing goal.

Recap – ITE’s 3rd General Meeting

ITE's 3rd MeetingOn Thursday, October 25th 2012, ITE Cal Poly Pomona held the 3rd General Meeting of the year. The guest speaker was Mr. Neil Nilchian, P.E. who detailed Project Management issues in Transportation Engineering.

Mr. Nilchian stressed the importance of balance within a project and the consideration for a diversity of needs. According to him, project success is a product of originality, timeliness, and client-service. Mr. Nilchian concluded his presentation with valuable words of wisdom and well wishes to his audience of aspiring professional engineers.

ITE’s 2nd Meeting w/ Guest Speaker Zaki Mustafa

Zaki MustafaITE’s second meeting is this Thursday, Oct 11 during U-hour (12-1 PM), in the Transpo Lab (17-2646). We will be hosting Zaki Mustafa as our guest speaker. As the newly elected President of ITE, he will be discussing how the Los Angeles Department of Transportation operates and also how to get ahead and succeed in life. Recap – ITE’s First General Meeting

ITE Cal Poly Pomona’s 1st General Meeting featured guest speaker Ms. Alyssa Reynolds, P.E. from the City of Henderson, NV.

Ms. Reynolds shared her wide range of experiences in engineering, highlighting multiple issues to be considered at the start of civil improvement projects. As the past President of ITE’s Western District, she also stressed the benefits of becoming involved with ITE and the Transportation Engineering profession.

ITECPP Wins 2012 ITE Western District Student Chapter Award

Our hard work has payed off, for the first time, ITE Cal Poly Pomona has won the Western District Student Chapter Award! We ranked 1st among 21 student chapters within the western 13 states! The last time we we won was in 1996.

Annual ReportThis goal was envision since the previous summer where we strategically planned the entire upcoming year by organizing guest speakers, technical tours, social events, and research opportunities for our members who will be presenting at conference. From the data collection proposal, to our educational outreach project with high school students; there has been a tremendous amount of work  behind the scenes.
